Some items are not a two-guys-and-a-dolly job. An upright in the front room, a 700-pound gun safe in the basement, a slate pool table in a Calabasas game room, a cast-iron BBQ smoker on a Tarzana patio — get the weight balance wrong and you damage the piece, the floor, or somebody’s spine. For pianos we use proper piano boards, e-track straps, skid boards, and stair ramps when there’s a flight to clear. Our long-haul-equipped trucks are climate-controlled in the box, which matters on a hot Valley afternoon when an upright would otherwise sit baking in the sun. Uprights, consoles, and baby grands each have their own method. A grand comes off the legs and rides on its side on the board — never muscled down a flight intact. A 9-foot concert grand isn’t a Saturday-afternoon job; it gets scoped, scheduled, and crewed accordingly.

Heavy, awkward, and one-of-a-kind

Gun safes pack enormous weight into a tight footprint, often headed up or down a basement staircase. We bring heavy-duty stair-climbing equipment and enough hands to keep the safe controlled the whole way — there’s no improvising on a 700-pound item. The same approach covers slate pool tables (broken down and re-leveled at the new place), restaurant-grade kitchen ranges, oversize garden statuary, and commercial gym equipment. If it needs more than a standard crew and a hand truck to move safely, it gets the specialty treatment.
