Terms of Service
These terms describe the services State To State Logistics provides and your use of statetostatelogistics.com. By requesting a quote, booking a move, or otherwise engaging us, you agree to the terms set out below. They are written in plain English; the binding specifics of any individual job are governed by the written estimate, the bill of lading, and any other paperwork you sign with us.
Estimates and binding quotes
A local Valley estimate is our good-faith projection based on the inventory and the walkthrough information you give us; the final local charge reflects the actual hours and materials the move ends up requiring, billed against the hourly rates spelled out in your paperwork. A long-distance flat rate is a binding written quote — once you accept it, that figure holds for the scope it describes, and it only changes if you add inventory, services, or destinations that were not part of the original walkthrough. Always read the written estimate, since it, and not anything said in conversation, governs your specific move under California Public Utilities Commission rules.
Deposits, scheduling, and cancellation
A $200 deposit reserves your moving date on our calendar and is applied to the final total of your move. If you need to reschedule, contact us as early as you reasonably can and we will shift your booking; the deposit follows the new date rather than being lost. If you cancel outright, the deposit may be retained in whole or in part to cover the slot we held off for you. We will always try to be reasonable about life circumstances, and the specifics are spelled out in your booking paperwork.
Liability, valuation, and claims
Released-value protection at $0.60 per pound per article is included on every shipment at no extra charge and is the default level of carrier liability, consistent with federal and California rules. You may instead choose full-value protection, which provides broader coverage for the actual replacement cost of a damaged or lost item, and we will price and explain that option before your move. Cargo coverage extends up to $1,000,000 per shipment. Any claims for loss or damage must be reported to us promptly, in writing, and in line with the procedures in your moving documents and applicable law.
Authority, governing law, and severability
State To State Logistics operates under household-goods carrier authority from the California Public Utilities Commission, with a Cal-T number on file, and under our own federal operating authority for interstate moves. These terms and any move we perform are governed by the laws of the State of California, with venue in Los Angeles County for any dispute.
