Storage Between Closings

Short-Term Storage Between Closings

Closings around here rarely line up clean. You sell, you sign, and there’s a gap — sometimes a few days, sometimes three weeks — before the new keys hit your hand. Your furniture has to live somewhere in the meantime, and renting a self-storage unit then hiring a second moving company to load it and unload it again is two extra bills and a coordination headache. State To State bridges the gap as one job. We load your home, store it sealed and inventoried in our facility, and redeliver it the day the new place is actually yours. Same paperwork, same crew, one phone number for the whole stretch.

Every piece is logged on a written inventory as it leaves your home and checked against that same list on redelivery, so what went into storage is exactly what comes back out. Furniture stays pad-wrapped through the hold — not stripped on Monday and re-wrapped Friday — and your goods stay protected from weather, dust, and anyone else’s load. The crew that wraps and loads in the Valley is the same crew you see again on the redelivery day. Nothing is rummaged through, double-stacked under a stranger’s freight, or shuffled around the warehouse while you wait.

When closings slip — and they do

Closings in California slip all the time. Escrow drags, an inspection finds something, the seller’s wire takes an extra day. We plan for it. Your goods sit sealed and your spot stays held, and Diego just reschedules the redelivery for the new key day. No re-quoting, no starting over, no scramble. If you need a few extra days at the front end while you finish out the old lease, that’s fine too — Priscilla flexes the load-in date around your timeline.

  • Sealed, weather-protected storage between your sale and your purchase
  • Written inventory taken on load-in and verified on redelivery
  • Furniture pad-wrapped and stored protected, not stacked loose
  • Redelivery scheduled for your actual key day, adjusted free if the closing slips
  • Same State To State crew loads, stores, and redelivers — no second vendor
  • $200 deposit holds the dates and applies to your final total

If your sale and your buy are a week or three apart, you don’t need to solve storage on your own. Call (888) 711-4778 and we’ll load, hold, and redeliver on your actual closing day — sealed, counted, and handled by the same crew end to end.

Service FAQ

What if my closing date slips?
Closings in California slip all the time and we plan for it. Your goods stay sealed in storage, your spot stays held, and Diego simply moves the redelivery to the new key day. You don't lose your booking or pay a re-scheduling fee.
How do I know everything comes back?
A written inventory goes onto the truck with your goods and gets checked against that same list when we redeliver. Because the same State To State crew handles both ends, what went into storage is exactly what comes back out, item by item.
Is my furniture protected while it's stored?
Yes. Pieces stay pad-wrapped and sealed for the whole hold — not stripped and re-wrapped when redelivery comes around. The protection that goes on for transit stays on through storage.
Do I need a separate storage company?
No — that's the point. We handle the move and the storage together, so there's no second vendor to coordinate, no second contract, and no second handoff. One crew, one inventory, one phone number from the load to the redelivery.
How long can you hold my things?
Anywhere from a few days to a few weeks — whatever the gap between your closings actually turns out to be. Tell Priscilla the rough window when you book and we'll fit the hold and the redelivery around your timeline.

Already locked in a date? Aaron's Canoga Park crew carries it from there.
